Welcome to Maple Ridge Goldens! 

We are a small, family style Golden Retriever Breeder in south-central New York.  We focus on breed quality and standard, working drive, lovable temperaments, and many more of the wonderful qualities that the Golden Retriever is so well known for. We are dedicated to breeding and raising healthy, well-rounded puppies who meet the breed standard, and will fit into any family and life style. Our dogs will fit best into working and hunting homes, as well as sporting and active family homes as well! We do extensive health testing on all of our dog parents prior to breeding, including full DNA panels for multiple genetic diseases within the breed. Our dogs also complete evaluations for cardiac and eye conditions, as well as Elbow and Hip Dysplasia with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) that. Each dog's hip x-rays are also evaluated through PennHip, which gives us in depth knowledge of the joints our dogs will pass on to their offspring. The health of our dogs and their future generations is our top priority, and we ensure completion of all tests required by the Golden Retriever Club of America on our parents prior to breeding.

We strive to raise each of our litters in our family home to give the puppies the maximum amount of socialization and training possible in their first 8 weeks of life. We provide Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)  and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) exercises for our puppies in their first two weeks of life to start their stimulation and socialization early. As they age we begin to introduce strange surfaces, sounds, and smells to their world, and we also begin to work on basic house training and crate training prior to them leaving our house, to aid with the transition to their new lives at home with you! Once the puppies go home, we keep in close contact with our puppy families and are always available to provide support as needed. 

We love this breed, and hope that you do too! We work hard to ensure that all of our dogs are well prepared for their lives, and assess each puppy and new puppy family as thoroughly as possible to ensure a good match for each family. We ask that our puppy families complete an application prior to being placed on our waitlist, to ensure that we can get to know you well and find the puppy that will match your family best.  Signed contracts will be required with puppy placement to ensure the success and safety of each puppy and new family. 

We are affiliated with the Golden Retriever Club of America, the Golden Retriever Club of Central NY, are a Good Breeder with Good Dog, and are members of and train with the Ithaca Dog Training Club. Additionally, our dogs are AKC and UKC registered, and we complete testing with OFA, PennHip, EmbarkVet and Pawprint DNA.
